Well one more week until half term, it has certainly arrived quickly and it seems impossible that we will be half way through our school year!
This week we have been working hard in Science, carrying out a range of sound experiments and trying hard to make our experiments ‘fair’. We have enjoyed working as members of a small group and worked hard to ensure that everyone has a ‘voice’ and that all ideas are considered carefully!
In Maths we have been investigating place value and partitioning (or grouping) two digit numbers into tens and units, we also completed some addition calculations and concentrated on making sure our numbers are in the correct place.
Lots of hard work here. We made our own tens and unit from the multilink cubes… can you spot which number is the largest ? How many tens did the children make altogether?
In Literacy our focus author has been Valerie Thomas and the talented Korky Paul. We have enjoyed reading and reviewing a selection of Winnie the Witch books and have enjoyed visiting Winnie’s website too! There is a link to the site on Our Hilltop.
Have a lovely weekend everyone and I look forward to meeting with you all next week during our parent consultations.
